I have been searching for info on extending the precision IR cable but can't seem to find any information.

I'm concerned about range of the 900 to the base station/blaster and want to keep the blaster in the room with the tv and extend the precision IR with cat5 to the gear in a closet down the hall.   Just concerned the output isn't stronger than the length it is offered.

Cat 5 cable will work fine you only need 2 of the 8 wires available, you just need the correct male and female connectors to extend the cable
