I've encountered the same problem with my 1100.  Have been using it just fine for several months.  Tonight, after watching a movie (~2 hours), I picked up the remote and found the screen inverted.  Everything worked just fine, though you had to touch the original locations on the touch screen for the functions to work, not where the inverted images appeared.  I was able to successfully reset it by removing and then reinserting the battery.

Very strange behavior!  No solutions, yet?

I contacted Logitech Tech Support about this and was actually surprised at one the replies from Level 2.  Apparently there was a bad firmware build that was released around May 2011 which contained several problems.  I'm not sure how long the bad build was released into production.  I was one of many people running this bad build.  They had since rolled back to a prior stable release which the tech had me load. 

Tromtez - like you, the issue is very random for me.  I can't verify that rolling back to a prior build corrected the issue as it is transient and not directly reproducible.

I'd be willing to bet this is not a bad firmware build.   If this was a software bug then it would happen all the time when that section of code runs.   This sounds more like a transient hardware problem that might be due to heat buildup causing resistance changes in the video circuit

BTW Mike do you have an 1100 or 1101 ?

There is no such model 1101  there is a 1100i the i means that it cannot use the RF Extender, it is strictly IR

Nope wrong on both counts.  There is a new version of the 1100 with internal code name 1101.  This functions the same except the video output had to be changed since Innolux was bought out by ChiMei so Logitech had to source new LCDs from Tianma.  The i in 1100i stands for international not IR only - comes with different power adapter prongs.

Looked up the LCD video processor on the 1100 from Freescale.  Seems there is a pin that if set will reverse the video output.  So possibly a weak solder joint acting up might be causing this.   On the bright side it isnt a 900 with all the problems that hardware has.

That is true that it is International, and uses a different power adapter, but it also cannot use the RF Extender, as such it is strictly IR.

So what is everyone's opinion - should I press Logitech harder to get a replacement 1100 while mine is still under warranty?  Solder joings never improve with time...
