harmony 200 sony STR-K840P

ok so i bought this remote because it said that it would work with home audio recievers... well after about an hour of fighting with myharmony.. plugging and unplugging the remote re starting deleating myharmony from silver light i gave up and reinstalled silver light and sun jave (which fixed the issue)

ok so i added my

tv rca 27f522t,

dvd player toshiba sd-4000

and finally my surround sound reciever sony STR-K840P <i bought this as a store display with out a remote... so the thought was with this remote (i own more universal remotes then i care to say) i would be able to add it and use it to at least control the volume.... nope it has all the controls setup but none of them work and the ones i want are setup in myharmony.com

i have been looking at the myharmony.com setup for about an hour is there any way to program a device with out having the original remote?

Sony receivers have two command modes available, AV1 & AV2, I forget which command mode Harmony remotes use in the database.  I ran into this problem when I first setup my first Harmony remote 5 years ago, so I had to change the command mode of my receiver and original remote.  Check you user manual for your AVR to see if you can change the command mode, if you can that should fix your problem.  Otherwise you will have to contact Harmony support to have them change command set in your database.
