Trying to set up my harmony 650 with Remote Software 7.7.0
The remote is on, but makes no indication that it is connected to the computer, which it is.
The software is in the second step (check connection) but stays at 0%
The light on my usb cord adaptor is on, indicating that is indeed connected to the computer.
Would really appreciate any help at getting this remote to function, thanks.

I had a similar issue with my 550, I could not figure it out. But it ended up working on another machine. My issue is a bug in the software I guess, but as this is an intermitant failure on machines it will not likely get addressed unless there are more reports of it.
(Please note that I do not work for Logitech, the opinion expressed here are my own.)

I am having the same issue with my 610, trying to update it on my new computer with Win 7.
Guess I'll leave it plugged in overnight and see if it does anything, but I think there's a bug somwhere.....

Hi Guys,
Please right click on the Harmony Remote icon and then select properties.
Then select Compatibillity and then set it to Windows XP SP2 or SP3.
Close the program. (it always runs in the background so you will have to right click on the small icon in the taskbar)
Then run the program as administrator.
Works 70% of the time

I'll try that when I get home, but it still doesn't make sense.
1)I updated my remote a week before this on the same computer, no problems.
2) why do i have to run it in XP compatibility mode, when I have the Windows 7 version downloaded from the site?
It would be nice to have some news from someone in Logitech on this problwm.

Turn off your firewall and anti-virus (windows) or set your computer to 32 bit mode (press and hold "3" and "2" while rebooting the computer/ wireless connections is somehow a problem so better go hardwire instead/ turn off firewall as well)

I don't have Windows XP as an option in the compatibility tab, maybe because I have XP? I don't know...

So, i tried the web Harmony software and it doens't work. I tried the desktop software in WinXP SP3 mode, doesn't work. firewall and antivirus off, no go.
**bleep** is going on? How can it work one week and not the next on the same bloody computer?

so, i installed the software on another computer running XP, and everything went perfectly fine.
I guess the moral of the story is the software doesn't work with Win 7..... or just sporadically, as mentioned I did do an update once on Win 7.
