Harmony Remotes

hello,

Just got my new Harmony One Universal Remote - I like it except for a couple of things, one of which is that I have to do the following to get to my Samsung Internet TV (Netflix etc): -

-> Watch TV

-> Devices

-> Samsung TV

-> go to page 4 of 6

-> Press InternetTV button

So I tried to create a shortcut i.e. an Activity specifically for this. However I think the fundamental problem is that "Watch TV" puts it in Cable TV mode hence Internet TV doesnt apply in that mode.

Any tips? 5 clicks is too many.

Why not add the Internet TV command to your LCD screen or an unused Hard Button, for your Watch TV Activity?  Activities, Watch TV, Customize Buttons, then add the Internet TV command to either an unused Hard Button or to one of the LCD buttons.

Hello Thanks for the tip. I thought that would work too hence I had setup the unused "+" key to bind to internet TV. The net effect is that it does enter the internet TV screen but then none of the remote keys work on internet TV. For example I cant use the arrow keys to move thru the apps My take is that "watch tv' puts the remote in cable mode which effectively doesn't have internet TV (only the device Samsung TV has the Internet TV option) Any other tips? You should have had the Internet command within the activity, on ANY button of your choice, from the start - no need for all that hassle of going to the device storage area and sending it from there!

If you ever need to have the direction buttons controlling the cable receiver you should have one WatchTV activity for that, and another in which they control the TV.

Excellent call!

I made a new InternetTV activity then changed most of the buttons from PVR to TV and set the corresponding DirectionDown/Up sequences etc.

That fixed it.

Setting up that new activity should have assigned the right commands automatically though - you shouldn't have had to make those changes.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but when i go to select 'new activity' the only option is 'listen to radio.'

Always when you create a new activity select the second option to create the activity manually. This will give you total control of how your activity is created.
