DO NOT BUY THE HARMONY LINK

Just popping in here to warn everyone considering picking up a harmony link this POS hasn't been updated since January.  Still no future listings in the ipad app, still no version for android devices that aren't on version 2, still no answers or support.  The only thing that has got better in the last two months (after various mess ups) was the connection to the cloud.  Of course, the connection to the cloud is not needed, it should only connect if you've updated your profile, and if a connection can't be made "last known config" should be loaded. Instead of this obvious solution, Logitech will leave you with a brick if you can't get a connection to their servers.  I'll ask again but I may as well be talking to a wall.  What is the status of the next patch and when the hell can we expect it?  There is a LOT of work to be done.

Re: DO NOT BUY THE HARMONY LINK

I 100% agree. I beta tested the Link and never came across all the disconnections, but lately my Link has to be reset at least once per day. It's an embarassing piece of crap that they haven't fixed.

Re: DO NOT BUY THE HARMONY LINK

I will have to agree with you on this one. My wife and I bought a Harmony Link yesterday and spent 2 hours trying to get it to Sync. We just kept getting Error 11: Sync Failed messages. So we are going to return this POS back to Best Buy. I'm going to avoid Logitech products like the plague now.

Re: DO NOT BUY THE HARMONY LINK

I have noticed that the link dies during after work prime time hours for 2-3 hours every day again for the past 3-4 days.  I guess too many people want to watch TV at the same time according to Logitech.

With people not being able to watch TV, they may end up doing other things and create another baby boom generation.  Will Logitech pitch in for the daycare costs?  I bet this gets flagged by the censors for that last sentence even though no TOS rules have been violated.

Re: DO NOT BUY THE HARMONY LINK

Since Logitech has no intention of adressing any of these issues, and leaves customers high and dry in terms of support- which is non-existent, can anyone reccomend another product the does what the link is supposed to do?

I'm still having the same connection issues I've had since day one.. Contacted support via email, and never got a response (Shocking, isn't it?). Just getting real tiresome having to re-connect, enter my password (still can't figure out why I need a password for a remote), and having to wait up to 20 seconds for it to establish a connection just so I can change channels, and adjust volume..  What a joke..

My link works fine. Did you call their support line? :smileysad:

They answered my questions and my link works fine.

Re: DO NOT BUY THE HARMONY LINK

As of 14/05/2012 there have been no patches of this device that we have been asking for since 01/01/2012.  Logitech shows no effots to update us and none of the feature requests here have been addressed. This is anoter warning and bump - anyone researching the link for purchase stay far away!

Re: DO NOT BUY THE HARMONY LINK

As an 1100 user, I am not happy with the Link product. The 1100 is fabulous, but the Link, which should be better than the 1100 is, instead, not intuitive. I cannot find a comprehensive manual that provides details on the use of the iPad app. I appears I cannot have a favorites channel list. Favorites appear to be program/ time slot only. Link is a disappointing offering from Logitech.
