Future of Link

[ Edited ]

Since I am terrible at parsing forums, I am going to put all my questions and concerns here and hope they get answered.

I understand the Link apps have to have access to the Logitech servers upon running.  Is this true?  If so, is there any plan to remove this limitation?  If so, when?

I understand the Link apps act alone without any awareness of other apps accessing the same Link.  If true, is there any plan to synchronize multiple devices communicating with a Link?  So devices are not repeatedly turned on or off when multiple members of the household use their apps to change programs, etc.

I understand the app software has several limitations with button and activity customization.  Are the Logitech developers going to address all of the concerns touted throughout this forum?  I ask because I have seen little or no improvement of the software supporting the Harmony remotes I have owned.  I had to return the last two Harmony remotes I purchased simply because they did not improve anything.  In fact, the newer remotes imposed further limitations I was not ready to accept.

Is there any possibility Logitech will provide an API for other developers to create iOS/Android/etc. apps that can utilize the Link hardware?  So developers can combine Harmony Link with other functions, such as Z-wave device controllers and home media servers.

Is it true the Harmony configuration site is still unable to handle owners with multiple Harmony remotes?  Is Logitech EVER going to address this ridiculous limitation?  I experienced it with one of the remotes I ended up returning.  I was stunned at the complete lack of foresight.

Thanks,

Phil.

Re: Future of Link

Hello,

This is a user forum and is not regularly monitored by logitech.

Therefore we can not really answer most of you question.

One thing, you can connect up to 5 control devices (iphone/ipad/android) to same link device and they WILL be synced on activity change.

Re: Future of Link

Perhaps Logitech should in fact monitor their own forum and realize that your users are not happy.
