Re: Harmony Link won't connect

One more thing to try would be to update Silverlight to the most recent update. Then try with WEP

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

I was going to put in my two cents about issues setting up link with my ssid.  I was going to say it may be issues with weird character in ssid, but I just solved my issue.

My router was only allowing N devices, whoops the link is a G device.  I switched to mixed for my 2.4GHz spectrum using wpa2 and works fine now lol.  Before couldnt connect to my network only all my neighbors.

Hope that helps you.

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

I'm having the same problem, can't get past the wi-fi set up. Tried multiple accounts, multple computers, etc. Has anyone with this problem found a solution yet? Did your replacement unit work? Just trying to figure out if I should try to trade this unit out.

Thanks

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

this device and my attempt to hook it up wasted five hours of my christmas day.  this is the worst thing i've ever spent $100 on. shame on logitech.  i'm sorry for all the other folks in the same situation.

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

Agreed, I got this link and another harmony remote for Christmas, and my experience with this POS is making me want to take both of them back. Customer service has one shot tomorrow to tell me how to tweak my network to get this working...

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

I had the same problem attempting to setup the Link on my Netgear WNDR3700 WiFi. After much stumbling around, I thought it might be productive to review my "Wireless Settings" for possible causes. In my original setup, I checked "Enable Wireless Isolation"' listed immediately under "Enable SSID Broadcast". When I disabled wireless isolation the setup progressed without any further problem.

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

Yes, wireless isolation refers to isolating wireless devices from each other which would obviously not work for the Link. As I've found before, if you use WEP security, make sure to use an Open key and not a Shared key. The Link won't work on a WEP system with a Shared key.

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

Sounds like a 64 bit issue if you have a PC or Mac running 32 bit that will work for programming.  Just went through this on Lion OS X  and windows 7 64 bit .  I virtualized XP 32 bit on the widows 7 machine was able to connect.

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

I was able to get past the initial wireless setup on my d link DIR-655, by using the temporary access button on the side of the router and telling my harmony to connect to 'other network' using my SSID and no password (since it never works with my actual password). No thanks to my pointless call with level one customer service which just had me repeat the steps of new accont, reset, firmware download, etc again.

But, this thing is such a POS, now that I've "tricked" it onto my network, and figured out how to get my router to assign it an ip address, it won't respond to pings and can't be seen by my iOS devices through the harmony link app. I'm done. There is no reason we should have to sacrifice the security of our networks to get this thing to work. I have 9 other devices on my network with no problems.

Nice try Logitech, but this thing **bleep**.

Re: Harmony Link won't connect

Hello BrianClarke81,

Check if your encryption is WPA/WPA2 mixed.

This can sometimes cause issues. It is best to have it as one or the other.
