Tip: How to leave devices always on

I noticed that both 'Suggestions / Wish List' threads contained variations on "the ability to control whether or not a device gets turned off'. I wanted to let people know that this is currently possible.

Log into MyHarmony.com

Open the Device list and select the device you'd like left on

Select "Change Device Settings"

Select "Power Settings"

Select "The remote doesn't turn the Device on/off"

Save and Sync

Hopefully this is useful to some.

Re: Tip: How to leave devices always on

I know this is an old thread.. but it is the best match for me in my search..

I cannot STAND how every time I change actions, the Harmony Link cannot understand to NOT turn off my devices... Adding every device to every function does not work.. Because then it just turns EVERYTHING off the next time I change actions..

Telling it to NEVER turn off devices does not work for me either! Why? Because then I can't turn my stuff on.. Unless I use the original remotes... Kind of defeats the purpose.

I have a co-worker, who said I SHOULD be able to set each individual action to NOT turn the devices on or off... And then make another action called power on.. and have it set to turn my stuff off and on...

However, I cannot find any way to do this?

Please help me! :smileyhappy:

Re: Tip: How to leave devices always on

Been there, read the book, did the "contact support" thing too. Best idea is to (I have both an iPad and iPod so I know both work) find the toggle power button on either and just use that. I tried to set my tv to turn on to watch tv activity. I change to watch DVD and the tv turns back off again (toggles). I gave up and the tv does nothing now. JW
