http://www.mediafire.com/?znbzzmddqid
or this thread
http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Headphones-Earphones
/G35-mic-clicking-sound/td-p/392177 tried a usb extention cord to no avail
and one things thats wierd about the ticking noise even just playing with the g35 software changes its speed and pitch, even just
pressing the preview button, sometimes if i click on it on and off it disapears (the ticking noise) but comes back in a few, i also have the
static or the whine thingy
gonna try to find more usb extention to fina a way to fix it
btw can you link or post a pic of the extension cord your using so i can try to find that type of brand thanks
well, this thread really isnt about a ticking or poping sound, its about a high pitched buzz/hum that occures while the microphone is activated. that is, while something is actively utilizing the mic, even if the recording level is 0.
you can hear it in the G35 software by enabling voice preview, or if you prefer, you can run any sound recording app that can have the G35 mic as the source, and you'll hear it. that includes most mp games, vent, and a number of other various softwares geared toward sound editing.
exiting the G35 software will certainly fix the problem provided its the only application running that utilizes the mic. if you exit out of the software and then start up a game, or any other sound recorded as discueesed above, you'll hear it again unless you've discovered some magical trickery.
i personally never had the issue you're experiencing, but you're in the wrong thread to be looking for a fix for that
what i hear in your recording sounds nothing at all like the high pitched sound we're talking about here, and additionally the high pitched sound cant really be recorded without an additional computer with a mic as the sound is not internal to the computer (recordings are dead silent if the mic is muted, but you still hear the sound while recording).

Re: High Pitched Sound with Logitech G35
[ Edited ]yes i hear that too, the faint high pitched whine, what was wierd is that all the problems mention in this forums i have and a couple of friends when using windows xp x64 edition, i feel its connected somehow, one wierd thing about the high pitched whine is that its louder on the x64 os when the mic is muted, i think the mic sensitivity is to high that its picking up noise or the isolation is bad, or maybe feedback but the problem was all gone when we change to 32bit os, i can still hear the high pitched whine if i use preview and i mute the mic
by the way anyone notice that this G35 mic is suppose to be noise cancelling right? anyone know what type? my other headset uses one mic for talking which is the one on the mic boom and another one on the boom near the ears its suppose to act as a canceling mic it picks up background noise and compares it to the the other mic and cancels it, this G35 mic is not doing the cancel thing i can even hear people talking from the other room which if i dont use the headset i cant even hear them its like the opposite of being a noise cancelling mic, its like the mic for spys were you want to hear from a distant, it can even pick up clicking from the mouse switch and keyboard
its the oposite what its supposed to do. because even comparing the mic with a 2$ mic i got and pugging it on my motherboard which uses a onboard realtek hd sound card the mic works better when you turn the noise cancelling feature, im sort of disapointed with the mic which i think is the reason behind all this problem
and my 2$ mic and onboard sound combo works better is doesnt even make the hiss sound when you turn the mic level all the way up unless you turn off the noise reduction or cancelling feature
i think this G35 headset didnt have a real noise cancelling mic nor a software base noise cancelling feature

Re: High Pitched Sound with Logitech G35
Hi All,
The root cause for the high pitched whine some users have noticed has been found. A modification has been made at the factory to eliminate the issue. This modification has been tested with all applicable operating systems and has passed all tests.
The replacement stock is en route from the factory and should be in place in 2 weeks time. As soon as it is available I will post a notice. After that time please contact Technical Support and ask for a replacement headset.
If you call before that time you may get an unmodified set.
Thank you all for your patience.

Re: High Pitched Sound with Logitech G35
I've been using the G35 Headset on OSX 10.5.6.
The buzzing sounds like it's coming from the right ear. At the end of the song, It will play for about 2 seconds, then stop. It's not really loud but it's definitely noticible.
I got these as a gift a couple of weeks ago and I don't know if I can get the gift. How will Logitech handle this for a repair?

Re: High Pitched Sound with Logitech G35
Haha and here I was thinking it was my folding at home program. Because it does nearly the same thing to my speakers. Glad to know Logitech is being so awesome about it.
