I had this ClearChat cordless headset for maybe less than 2 years now and lately i noticed that it won't charge.
does it mean that the battery reached the maximum number of charges and just died, or is there any solution to this? instead of charging, what happens is the red and green lights alternately flashes. please help.

If it's a hardware failure, you can contact the Logitech Support team of your region for a possible warranty replacement (refer here).
