Hello I just have a quick question. I only use these for PS3. I just picked them up and I love them but are you supposed to always hear yourself when the mic is down? It goes away when i mute it or flip the mic up, but its really annoying hearing myself talk and it usually trips me up when im talking. How do make it like every other headset where you only hear other people and not yourself. For those of you with PS3's I will give an example of what I am experiencing...If you have any bluetooth headset turned on and you go to SETTINGS: ACCESSORY SETTINGS: AUDIO DEVICE SETTINGS, and then talk you can hear yourself so that you can see if its loud enough or whatever, then after you back out that goes away. With the F540 headset it sound like that all the time, unless its muted or mic is up. I dont want to have to mute myself after eveytime I talk so if thats just how these were designed then I guess i'll have to return them and look for something that works like I want it to. Thank you to anyone who can help me figure out whats going on.

I have the same issue. I put on my nice new F540 headset to hear the hissing of microphone noise. I can hear everything that's going on in the room, in my headset. What's the point of having a nice headset if you're just going to echo all the noise picked up from the microphone?? These are expensive, and this is a show-stopper. I don't want to hear myself in the headphones. If there's no workaround, these are going back.

Same problem here. Both on PS3 and PC the mic is to sensitive and picks up sounds much to soon
. So it's hard to use it for skype. When you are talking there is the problem that you can here you're self. But worse is that when you talking to someone and the is a pause in the conversation the mic will search for other sounds in the background and use that. There is the most worst part: so when you start to talk again it will be much to loud! This headset cost to much for this kind of problems. Logitech When you are fixing this make some good pc drivers to for this headset pls. I want to use it pc vs ps3. Tnx in advance. I hope it will be fixed soon!

I just found a solution on the problem, on ps3 if u put the xbox wire in the headset ur voice is almost gone and the mic is still working . I allso think the problem is that the mic is very sensetive so u can also turn it down on the ps 3

Just to chime in: the sound you're hearing has a technical term, and it's called Sidetone. It was a design decision to include it, and I happen to like it. I have a tendancy to yell without it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidetone
Lack of Sidetone causes people to tend to speak louder than they normally would, especially with enclosed earcaps. The concept of using the F540 to play stealthily lends heavily to the use of sidetone, and in our testing helped to this end.
If you've ever wondered why some people yell on cell phones, it's because many cell phones have low sidetone.
