G930 Screeching and Turning Off

Im not sure what is happening but about once a day, my headphones emit a loud screeching noise for 2-3 minutes and then turn off. The pair i had before i could turn right back on and they would be fine, but this new pair i got wont even turn on, but to blink and then turn right off again. Has anyone had this problem before? I cant figure out whats causing it.

Re: G930 Screeching and Turning Off

I have EXACTLY the same thing happen every other day. I actually did a defective replacement, and tried a replacement battery, but it still happens. I didn't bother doing another doa because where I live they don't allow cross shipping and it took well over a month to get the replacement device. I've got a few attempted fixes, but nothing really works well. More or less restart the headset. If it's not turning on let it charge: For some reason when you hear that screech it thinks the power is dead.

If you find a way to fix it for good without a doa I hope you respond, I hate it when I suddenly have to quit a game because this happened.

Im not sure if it has to do with the power though. I always have it plugged in since im like a foot away from my computer anyway, Unless the connection is getting interupted or something.

Exactly the same in my case. Sometime I have it unplugged for up to maybe an hour if I'm listening to music and doing something, but otherwise it's plugged in.

Re: G930 Screeching and Turning Off

I'm pretty sure I verified it was related to the battery, but it might be the headset itself. I had it unplugged and was listening to music while doing stuff upstairs and forgot to plug it in. It should have had at least a few hours charge left but it suddenly cut out without the low power warning going on once. I quickly checked the LGS software knowing it takes a while to update and saw it thought it still had full charge. Same thing fixed it, wait a second, charge for a few minutes, then turn on. What I think it is now is the battery / headset thinks the battery is fully charged and so stops charging it. The headset doesn't seem to 'run' off of it's connected power, it's just that the headset charges at the same time, so while it's plugged in it is just using the battery power, and thinks the whole time it's charged. After it runs out, something bugs out and you get that screeching sound. Turn it off, charge, then turn on seems to 'reset' it and makes sure to get the battery's charge correctly.

Re: G930 Screeching and Turning Off

I would agree with above, however I keep my headset unplugged whenever I can, and I have this screeching happen to me while it's on wireless, even thought it should indeed have plenty of charge. Leaving it alone for a while on a charger seems to always work, so I do believe it is something with the battery, but I can confirm that it happens while plugged in and while not plugged in.

Bumping this seems like a good idea, this problem really spoils an otherwise amazing product for me.
