So my first headset. The plastic insert that holds the earcuff to the headset... crumbled on me one day randomly. I RMA'd it which took FOREVER.(the first headset lasted the month of december I RMA'd it beginning of jan)
Now I'm on my second headset and the plastic located right above the ear cuffs with the 4 screws in it, which holds the earcuffs to the headset are cracking... again. What is going on ? Really? 160$ headset and twice now same issue? At this point should I just ask for a refund or go through a 3rd one? I am really upset by this as my wife thought to buy them. But it turns out she wasted her money?
Is this a known issue? Does it happen alot? When i spoke to the guy who RMA'd it the first time he said "It was also an issue with the G35, I took in alot of RMA orders for those headset which use the same set up and I've taken alot of RMA's now on G930's with the same issue"
Why doesn't Logitech man up and remove the pieces of plastic that are continuing to crack, and replace them with aluminum. Or some other metal. This is a pretty huge design flaw. I also made sure that this second headset went two places. 1: on my head, Two, back to my desk. I made sure my daughters never touched it. (I know they dropped the first one at least twice)

Now its getting even better... Now I'm getting random static sessions. For absolutely no reason at all the headset starts producing a ton of static. Sometimes the headset even turns itself off while its flipping out on me.... What is wrong with this headset SERIOUSLY. Is there anyone from LOGITECH engineering around ANYWHERE? Come on guys fix this headset.. God I want it to work so badly but this is just pathetic for such an expensive headset. How did this get past inhouse testing?
The plastic has now started cracking on the other side along with the static issue's going on.... Sigh. I'm thinking Corsair Headset or something this is rediculous... I want these to be good so badly I do...

It's sad, but I have had exactly the same problems.
RMA'd the first pair for sound quality and the plastic retainer above the left cuff was crumbling.
Second set has now had the right retrainer crumble, and the headset won't stay on my head.
I just want the plastic retainer parts so I can swap it out, because the RMA process took weeks.

I'm getting my money back, since they won't do an advance replacement RMA. Sick and tired of RMAing there product I'm sure the next headset will end up with cracking plastic holding retainers as well.

I hate to say that I am having exactly the same issue.
I was playing eve and while wearing the headset I hear a "crack" and looking at my left plastic covering... it's cracked right down thru where the screws are on one side.
Make things worse... the store location where I bought them no longer carries the line... makes me wonder if Logitech didn't make a huge recall of the units for similar issues across the line.

i have the exact same issue as well, the cover broke the first time i tried it on, having had several emails from the place i bought it with 'it is my own fault and there is no warenty for that' i feel extremely disapointed with logitech g930 as a close study of the cover reveals that it is made from the cheapest and most fragile plastic, acted on by the lever principle of the fork holding the ear muffs themselves - the plastic being only 1 mm thick and with a distance of only 3 mm between the screws it will not take anybody very long to see that it will never hold up to any normal usage since the mere lifting of the headset wrong will apply serious forces to the thin plastic... what is logitechs policy on getting this fixed?
oh and i have never been dissatisfied with any of my prior purschases from logitech but this does seem to be a major design flaw...

I've sent in for my money to be refunded. To bad these things arn't built like there pricetag. I understand taking a 100$ good sounding headset and adding 50$ to it because its wireless. However if they can't build it good enough so that it doesn't fall apart they shouldn't be selling them.

I actually had one RMA that had it's microphone literally fall apart. Was pretty bad. Basically buy a g930 if you don't mind RMAing it every 3 months.

My second one has been good for almost a year now. I drop it all the time or trip over the cord when it is recharging etc. I didn't do anything to the first one to break it.
My current plugins (v1.9) for the legacy G930 drivers:

just added a RMA to the netshop where i bought my headset - and yes its the 1mm thin piece of plastic that pretty much just crubled up like last weeks loaf
to be honest if i find out who the idiot is in logitech that came with the idea of adding a thin useless 1mm bracket to hold the speaker part of the headset to the headpiece i'm gonna look him up tell him to show me his engineering diploma then i'm gonna lit it on fire and tell the sod to get the **bleep** back to school and learn again cause he failed
