I really wish I had come across this post and issue before I made this purchase. One of the main reasons I purchased this headset was to have a high-quality headset to use along with my dictation software (I'm a graduate student with weekly 20 to 30 page report writing). Needless to say this is extremely frustrating as every 10 min. the headset shuts down. Not to mention the power button is getting unnecessary abuse turning it on 20 times a day.
I don't understand why Logitech can't not release software to make this auto off feature an option or change the timer.
I have been a very longtime supporter of their products and while I am generally satisfied with their warranty services this is not the first time I see them not taking action regarding customers concerns, especially in a situation like this where they can likely write a code and make an update, if not some type of software implementation.
PS the zip file posted earlier in this forum appears to be some type of Trojan Norton would not let me install it and said it blocked an attack on my computer.

I just wanted to say that the zip file isn't actually a trogen but detects as one because it uses unsafe memory hacking techniques to break Logitech's timer. It only works with a specific version of the legacy drivers anyway.
If you are willing to use the legacy drivers and don't want to use that somewhat odd hack you can use my plugin. My plugin is not sophisticated, it just plays a silent wav file to convince the headset to stay on but it isn't detected as a potential trogen.
The big drawback to my plugin is that you need to have the default audio device set to the headset when you hit the G-key and you need to hit that G-key once every time you reboot.
Logitech really does need to fix this, just a simple option for it would be so easy for them.
My current plugins (v1.9) for the legacy G930 drivers:

This program also got me a Punkbuster ban in BF3. It was eventually reduced to a restriction kick. So, I would not use this on any PB streaming servers. Didn't work for me anyway for that matter.

You don't leave it on, you run it once, press the hotkey and close it. Otherwise it can do that. (Make sure you are out of any game first before running it)

Just curious on the disabling g930 program. I run the program and launch the software then try to use the hotkey. how do i know that it is working. I didn't here a sound or see the text change in any way. I'm using lgs 8.20.74 software if that makes a difference.

I don't think there is a disabling program for the gaming software, just the legacy drivers. You do not get any feedback from the disabling program but you do from my plugin.

I got so annoyed at this problem I decided to do something to help.
This is a VB .Net program that I put togther. Its basically plays a silent wav ping every 5 minutes.
Its enough to stop the headset going to sleep.
It requires Net 4 Installed but let me know what you think we have been running it for 6 months ...
I placed mine in my startup.

PS .. If Logitec reads this ... maybe next time you could just give us the option.

I bought my headset less than a week ago, now this explains why I have to turn it back on so much. Observed this only when unplugged, running on battery. Now I have this annoying cord. BUYER BEWARE! BUY THE CORDED VERSION.

cruziopablod, take a look at that tool above your post. I've tried it today and experienced no more of that annoying poweroffs.
