G930 mic issue

[ Edited ]

Hello everyone, I see a lot od topics about G930 issues but didn't saw any with mine so here it is.

The issue is that when I record myself in Sound Recorder (windows7 tool) I sound like this.

You will hear some buzzing annoying sound even if I don't talk...do owners of this product have this issue too or it's only mine headset?

(win7 x64)

Thanks

Re: G930 mic issue

I get this problem sometimes, the way I have always fixed it is just:

1) unplug the dongle and turn off the headphones

2) reboot the computer

4) turn the headset back on

5) plug in the dongle

I haven't figured out what causes them to go into mic static mode but this has always fixed it for me.

Step 2 can be replaced with by force closing the G930 software with taskmanager (G930.exe) and restarting it (Configure G930 from the start menu)

I hope it works for you too, a great headset with quirky drivers.

I am having the EXACT same issue...

This is very, very, very annoying!

and the above steps didn't help at all either.  I am not using the logitech usb hub, the dongle is directly plugged into the pc.  It does the same stupid thing regardless if on my pc or laptop.  and it doesn't matter if i'm using the logitech drivers or not.

Update: I also uploaded a quick video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rvQDGqsLx8

I'm also running Win7 x64 and just did a quick check.  Recorded myself in Win7 Sound Recorder and played it back and I sound fine.  I also have not had any complaints from my guild in LOTRO either using Teamspeak or the native in-game voice.

So, just anecdotal, but I don't have the issue.  The only issue I have I believe is software and that is the constant hum if Voice Preview is checked and I'm not using a voice morph.

Re: G930 mic issue

I also run on windows 7 ultimate 64bit and it has always been crystal clear for me.

Could it be so many just live in crowed appartment buildinds that have all sort of 2.4ghz frequencies flying around?  I know if i use another device in my home that runs the same frequency it interferes. Just a thought though not sure excatly.

Re: G930 mic issue

I checked out that video link. That is the exact same buzzing sound that my G930 is making!

The buzz is there only when there is no audio being emitted by programs.

It is also less noticeable when I set sidetone to 0.

If I open Control Panel->Sounds->Recording tab->Microphone->Properties, the buzzing sound will completely disappear.

I'm running Vista 32bit.

Re: G930 mic issue

Hey folks!

Same problem here!

Meanwhile i´ve got the third g930 headset with THAT problem at home..the only way

to fix this for me, is to compressing the microfon arm manually with my fingers...so

i guess its a hardware problem!

Please try this on your g930, i´m interested in feedback!

Thanks!

Nice greets,

BeN

Re: G930 mic issue

I think the Mic is always on for some reason even in the up position when it's supposed to be muted.
