H390 Microphone getting feedback

I just bought the headset the other day. It boasted of having a noise cancelling microphone; however it is picking up the sound from the headphones themselves. It is also picking up mouse clicks and keyboard noise.

I don't know if my headset is working properly or if I should take it back for a replacement.

Can anybody who has an H390 let me know if they get feedback from their microphone as well?

Re: H390 Microphone getting feedback

Hello antioest,

Try the following steps to fix this issue:

  • Click on the Start button
  • Go to Control Panel
  • Select Hardware and Sound
  • Then select the Sound option
  • Under Recording, make sure the USB Headset H390 microphone is highlighted and set as default
  • Then click on the Properties button
  • Under the Properties window, click on the Listen Tab
  • Once you're on the Listen Tab make sure that the “Listen to this device” option it's not marked

I hope this information helps.

Re: H390 Microphone getting feedback

The listen to device is disabled. The problem I've been having is the microphone picking up sound from the headphones themselves, which has resulted in people I'm on a call with hearing both an echo of their voice and the sound that's coming from my computer. There aren't any speakers that the sound would be coming through, so it has to be picking up the headphones.
