Headphones / Headsets / Microphones

Should the volume adjustment on the headphones themselves be independent of the program you are listening to?  For instance should the volume adjustment on the side of the headphones be able to increase and decrease volume on Ventrilo and in-game sound level?

I cannot seem to get the controls to do anything.

Hello bucket24,

The music controls on the H800 headset are only supported on iTunes and Windows Media player.  For call control issues with a chat or internet soft-phone application (ex. Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Logitech Vid), make sure your headset is set as the audio output and microphone in both the operating system and the chat or internet soft-phone application.  Also, the H800 headset controls may not be compatible with all chat and soft-phone applications.

Can I please ask for clarification.  Are you saying that I can only adjust the volume when I use one of the applications you list?

So the outcome of this is that I have purchased a wireless headset to mainly use with Skype and the only way I can change volume is to be located at the PC.  There was no indication of this is the Logitech advertising literature.

Has downloading and installing "Wireless Headset H800 Media Track Control Software" given me volume and mute controls on the headset while I am using Skype, as they appear to now be working?
