Here's a list of what's new for LGS 8.20.
- LCD Emulator (accessed by holding CTRL+Shift while right-clicking on the System Tray Icon)
- Ability to Enable/Disable enhanced graphics
- Ability to Enable/Disable downloading of high resolution images
- Per profile/per mode backlighting (for G-series keyboards/gameboards)
- Various bug fixes.
Profiles Added:
- Batman: Arkham City
- Battlefield 3
- Dead Island
- Deus Ex: Human revolution
- Lord of the Rings: War in the North
- Rage
- Serious Sam 3: BFE
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Warhammer 40K: Space Marine
Some additional notes on this:
- The Enable/Disable enhanced graphics option now fully delinks LGS from your 3D accelerator library, and will require a PC restart upon selecting or disabling this option
- LGS now comes preinstalled with lower-resolution images to increase performance on some systems. LGS is able to connect to the internet to download high resolution images. If LGS does not automatically download a high res image after a product has been detected, you may have Automatic Updates disabled in another Logitech application (ie SetPoint or LWS). Enable automatic updates in, say, SetPoint, and the high res images should download.
Crashes and detection:
- LGS 8.20 has a new set of drivers with improved detection routines. If you are having detection issues, try making sure you are using USB 2.0 ports (some USB 3.0 ports have enumeration issues), and make sure your devices are plugged directly into your PC
- If you are having LCore.exe crashes, the problem might be an access level problem inherent in your system. Try disabling UAC

Does it still freeze and need restarting when you wake your PC from sleep mode?

Thank you very much for the early Christmas gift. LGS 8.20 appears to have cured the reboot problem. I have tried it out with BF3, DVDs, CDs, MP3s and both live and recorded TV. Sounds great with all.
I did the update from 8.12 to 8.20 using the software update function inbedded in 8.12. Everything went fine except for a very minor cosmetic problem with the task bar icon now displayed in V 8.20. It is fully functional but displays as a generic window icon rather than the : "Black G Key". The icon displayed in the Tray icon is the right one. Follow link below to view picture:

My system parameters are has follow:
OS - Windows7 Ultimate SP1 - 64bit
CPU - i7-2600K-D2 @ 4.5G-1.37V, Cooler – Corsair H70
MB - Gigabyte P67A-UD7 B3 – BIOS F5
RAM - 8GB Gskill F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD @ 2133 9-11-9-28-2T-1.65V
Video – Power Color Radeon 6990 @ 880x1200 MHz
Power Supply – Corsair 1000 W
PC Case – LianLi Armor Suit PC-80
Sound Card – Creative Audigy 2Z Card
HDD – WD Raptor 600K, Samsung F3/1Tera
Optical Drive – LiteOn iHBS 212, Sansung SH-S203N
Thanks again for update and Merry Christmas to U-Hall...!!!
Update as of 21 Dec 2011 @12:19 PM: Tray Icon now displaying the expected "Black G Key". System corrected itself after what appears to be 2 to 3 shutdown and re-start of LGS 8.20. I must have experienced a temporary glitch caused by the update from 8.12 to 8.20. Everything is OK now. Have worry free Holidays Charles, You've earned them...!

Actually, it's a present to me too to see this going off rather well: means I can relax, at least a little bit, on my vacation ![]()
That being said, try right clicking on the tray, properties, select "Use small icons", apply, OK. Does that resolve the issue? It's probably a poorly cached icon in Windows.
Try this then (maybe it will help, haven't had to do it myself)

I'm running into problems with LGS 8.20. 8.12 was working fine for me but upon seeing this thread I decided to update.
And now when I go to the dolby surround tab to test if surround sound is working I just get the error message "proper audio device not found".
And this error still persists after I uninstalled LGS 8.20 and went back to 8.12.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Ok this is weird. Plugging it into a different usb port resolves the error (LGS 8.12). I don't understand why this should be the case when it was working perfectly with the previous usb port. Now I'm afraid to update to 8.20 in case it somehow screws up this usb port as well.

I still have the crackling sound issue with my G930 and this driver didn't help at all.
