When talking in Ventrilo whenever I have 7.1 Surround Sound on sometimes I cannot hear people talking in vent, although I do hear vent sounds and such. After searching around I saw that this is a common problem with the Logitech G35 + Logitech G930 headsets, and that the issue is that the voices of people talking in vent are going to the center speaker, which isn't on the 7.1 option. Although I can just switch to 5.1 and have the audio just fine, I bought a 7.1 headset and I intend to use it for that. Is there any fix for this?

Hi Jaredmf,
Do you experience the issue when the headset is in stereo mode? I have a G930 and regularly use Ventrilo, I haven't experienced this problem before, but sometimes simply flicking the switch from stereo and back to surround will fix some audio issues.
You may also want to try checking on the Ventrilo forums to see if they have any suggestions.
Regards

I have this problem when in the 7.1 surround sound, but it works fine in Stereo mode... In 7.1 it will periodically make it so I can't hear voices. I understand that I can just switch to stereo, but what's the point of a headset advertising 7.1 surround sound if it doesn't work correctly? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this headset and this is the first issue i've had with it since I've gotten it, but I would like to figure out how I can use the 7.1 and vent.

On thing to check is the headset configured in Windows as a 7.1 device? Goto Sounds from the Control Panel, right click on the headset and then configure. It sounds like it could be set as a 5.1 device, so Ventrilo may be sending sound to a front channel that doesn't exist. But unfortunately I am unable to duplicate your problem with a G35.
From some quick searches on the Ventrilo forums, someone had this suggestion to configure the Vent setup for 7.1 audio: http://forum.ventrilo.com/showthread.php?t=42102 but for any troubleshooting with that I would have to direct you to the ventrilo forums as it is not specific to the headset.
