Excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong section, but I'm new to this forum and everything in it.
Alright, now back on topic:
I've had the Logitech G930 for about 2 months now, and I can't say that I've had ONE great moment with this headset.
It keeps disconnecting, over and over again. Sometimes not connecting back at all! (Ending up with me having to unplug the USB pin and plug it in again). When I use the 7.1 / Surround setting, the bass starts "crumbling" and it makes the rest of the audio sound pretty bad... I managed to temporarily fix this using an equalizer, but the crumbling is still there - not as violent as it was before, but it's still there...
Another problem that frequently occours is that the surround setting freezes, and I can't toggle it. I've tried pushing the button on my headset a million times without succeeding, I've also tried to toggle it in the Gaming Software but it's not going back to it's original mode. (It freezes randomly, both when using the surround and the 2 channel)
Also, when I use the 2 channel sound (Surround off) I loose the audio on the left side of my headset.
But, when I turn the surround on the left side turns on and the audio becomes stable.
My next problem might not be a problem caused by the Logitech software, but I'm still wondering how to fix it.
-Alright, so yesterday I uninstalled my Gaming Software from Logitech hoping that if I installed it back in the problems with the disconnecting would solve. So I uninstalled it and downloaded the software again, but when I tried installing it I got this message:
I've tried switching the USB ports, I've tried rebooting my computer, I've tried downloading the software several times, I've tried other versions of the program. Nothing, works... This is becoming a curse, and this headset is causing it.
I've always been a fan of Logitech products, and I've never had problems with them!
-Untill now... And this is by far the worst (as in problem filled) product I've ever bought.
For 179.00 Euro, or 270 USD I would expect this product to perform flawlessy! But it's not.
I know what this headset is capable of doing, and I know the good technology that's in it.
But it just dosen't add up when literally NOTHING is working.
A manufacturing problem you say? Well, I doubt it cause of the numerous replies people have left complaining about the exact same thing as I am.
So the people of Logitech, I need your helping hand. I'm in need of this headset, and if it's not working then I guess I'll have to send it back. Complaining - Something I don't want to do if it's not necessary.

You are not alone. I purchased my G930 on November 21, 2010. It worked flawlessly for a year. However, I now get the same problem with constant disconnecting and losing surround sound. Every time I restart my computer it loses surround sound and I have to re-install the drivers for it to be restored.
I have been singing praises about this headset the first year of ownership. It truly was amazing, and once they actually fixed the software to allow you to use the G-keys properly in Ventrilo it was the coolest device I owned. I loved being able to carry one conversation while I roamed the house for drinks or snacks.
But now, it barely holds a charge. This is somewhat understandable because I've used it almost constantly since I purchased it 16 months ago and batteries degrade over time. However, I can barely call this a wireless headset anymore as it only holds a charge for about 2.5 hours now. I am basically back to being tethered to my computer and will be keeping my eyes peeled for another wireless headset.
I know there's a 2 year limited warranty and I'm looking at my options now, but I don't know how much help I will get pursuing that option.
The headset did not work properly out of the box because for a long time the G-keys were not working properly. However, a 9-hour charge and amazing sound / mic quality was more than enough to make up for it. Also, someone had made a plugin workaround to allow for mapping keys to the G-keys so after some research I even had that working. I have been a Logitech customer for almost 10 years and have purchased over a dozen Logitech products and this is the first time I have regretted a purchase--it's been a headache from the start! Thankfully I didn't get hit as hard as you did because it was only $136 USD from Amazon.com when I bought it.
We have the same issues, so if I can find any solutions I will report back.
