Logitech H760 loses input/output after a while, no matter IM app

[ Edited ]

Hi. I recieved my Logitech H760 as a gift at end of december 2010. As I wasnt using it so much at that time, I wasnt even concerned about the problem then. I just thought it has something to do with Skype. But for last two months, I'm using it almost daily.

I have latest Logitech drivers installed on Windows 7 (64bit) with latest updates from Windows Update. My USB devices are NOT going to sleep when idle (Power options for every USB host in Device manager).

The problem isn't IM client-related, as this is happening in Ventrilo, Skype, GTalk, Mumble or Steam built-in voice chat. It also doesnt matter if headset is charging (meaning it is powered over USB or not).

Here is the main problem I'm having:

After several minutes of actively talking over IM, my headset stops sending or recieveing sound. Power on/off doesnt solve the issue. What does solve is this:

option A) going into Sound properties in Control Panel, totally disabling Logitech H760 headset and enabling it again OR

option B) going into every client's audio properties, switching device to something else, the imediately back to Logitech H760

As said, I have latest drivers and updates. Latest IM software installed.

After 5 months, I gave up. This support forum is the last chance I get help from. Please help me out what do I have to do to get this headset working as it should work from begining.

Thank you and best regards,

Gregor

Re: Logitech H760 loses input/output after a while, no matter IM app

Hello lordgreg:

Thank you for posting your issue to the Logitech Community Forums.

You mentioned you have tried this on multiple IM's. For troubleshooting purposes try putting your computer in a clean boot and operating your headset in that mode. If it works, while in a cleanboot, then there is a third party piece of software blocking the correct operation of your headset.

Also, have you tried on another computer? If it still gives you the same results on another computer then please contact the Customer Care Centre in your region for possible replacement of your product.

Hope this helps!

hi and thank you for your reply..

I'm happy to say that cleanboot fixed the problem. It wasnt one of the startup applications but more likely one of the services I havent disabled (At least 5 services were still enabled that shouldnt have been).

I was talking to at least ~5 hours with 2 diferent IM clients. I think this also fixed the static I was having, but that wasnt a problem at all, comparing to what I had.

Thank you again!

Re: Logitech H760 loses input/output after a while, no matter IM app

Hi and thank you again for your reply. It looks like, that, I was a bit too fast when saying I'm free of problems. As said, sometimes headset could disable voice/mic 3times in a row, sometimes it could work without a problem for the whole day.

It looks that I had a good day that day, that passed without any problems. Yesterday, headset shutdown mic/voice 3 times in half an hour.

I cant believe it. I did all yuo asked- I did even more:

- uninstalled drivers,

- uninstalled sound drivers,

- rebooted everytime

- did cleanboot,

I dont know what to say- but as tech enthusiast and a geek as I am, I just dont have any more hope and power to look up where the problem lies. And If putting in on another computer wouldnt help me either. If there's an app or service which handles the exceptions so I could see what stops the headset to work, please tell me what it is... I think this will/would be the last test I'm willing to try before changing the headset for another brand or finding 3.5mm wired headset.

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Gregor

Re: Logitech H760 loses input/output after a while.

[ Edited ]

Hello !

I'm having the same problem as Lordgreg.

After installing my H760, it worked for a few hours.

The next day it was not working at all any more.

All the green lights are burning constantly, even the buttons to choose the next numer are working, but there's no sound out of the headphone.

I even made a clean boot as you described in your advise to Lordgreg, but nothing helps.

Downloading the newest drivers for de H760 does not effect anything.

Can you still help me?

Can you tell me where the nearest Customes Care Centre is in the Netherlands?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Greetings,
