Logitech Precision Headset

i have bought two of these headsets since the beginning of summer 2008, the 1st set lasted about 1.5 months then the microphone quit working on me, then i bought another set thinking that i had bough a lemon. but turns out that the 2nd set only lasted 3weeks then the mic quit working on me again. and if you ask why did i buy the 2ns set, because they are comfortable sound quality isnt too bad, and they work(ed). but i dont think i'll ever buy another logitech headset again for this reason, if the mics dont last a month why bother buying them. i am deeply dissatisfied with the quality of the headsets. everything else that logitech has i love. but if im the only one who has this problem with these mics dying soon after purchase then please post a reply. and i would send my headsets back for warranty, but its not worth the time and money, as they would send me the same cheap product back to me, even if it happens to be a new replacement.

thanks for the support, although they are sending me back the same headset, im hoping that (for a 3rd time the these ones wont quit after a month). even though i take care of my products, i was happy to hear that i Logitech was going to replace my set. now i wish i hadnt thrown out the other set when i did, so that i could have that one replaced too. and i tried to ask if the could send me the USB model but they said no. oh well i guess. the anolog set will do i guess. but once again thank you for giving suck great product support.

Savaughn.

Re: Logitech Precision Headset

Hi sav,

Rotating the mic boom too far will break the wires and cause the mic to fail. The mic boom does not rotate 360 degrees. There is a stop and if you force the boom past the stop the mic wires will break.

Thank you for your post.

Re: Logitech Precision Headset

yeah i think i know that. and besides, theres a stopper built into the boom, tell me this is it in logitechs interest to have tech support to talk to its consumers as if theyre idiots.

i am not technically incompetant, and i am well aware that the wires could break as theyre are very thin. but thanks again for treating me as if i was a complete idiot. Mike_M

Re: Logitech Precision Headset

I would like to comment on the horrible quality of the Precision Gaming Headset, Model D820 and D841. My son received the piece of crap as a Christmas 07 present. He is on his 5th or 6th headset. They either have speaker or mic issues or they just don't last. The last one he received, the D841, the mic did not even work out of the box. I will be contacting product support for a replacement. The people I have interacted with at product support have been very nice. That is the only thing I can say nice about Logitech. The other thing is I had to pay to ship this poorly designed defective product back to the manufacturer.Logitech must own stock in the US Postal Service. I cannot really tell you on this forum how really really disappointed I am about Logitech and this product.
