Logitech USB H530 headset - fading volume when using "gaming" setting

[ Edited ]

The headset has a button with three optional positions, chat, gaming and music.

If I use the gaming option, any and all volume control stops working and I can see in windows 7 that the volume slider drops automatically as if some invisible person steadily lowered the volume. If I raise the volume in windows, the slider just falls down to it's lowest level.

The volume knobs on the headset doesn't work either when using the "gaming" mode.

The other two modes does allow for volume control, and appear to be working as expeted.

What is going on here?

Is there something I have misunderstood perhaps?

Is there anything to fix the obvious lack of volume control for the gaming mode?

Additionally would preferably like to know how the audio is processed differently when using the chat, gaming and music mode.

Windows 7 Professional, 64bit

Asus Maximus IV Extreme P67 motherboard

Microsoft driver date: 19. Nov 2010

Microsoft driver version: 6.1.7601.17514

Other issue that is solved now:

-With headset plugged into a USB hub (like front USB panel on cabinet), Windows 7 freeze on shutdown.

Re: Logitech USB H530 headset - fading volume when using "gaming" setting

Hello there,

I am having the exact same issue however, for me it doesn't seem to matter what mode I am in. All modes cause the volume to fade and this is essentially rendering the headset useless to me.

This is urgent please help!
