PC won't switch from headphones to speakers automatically or manually

I bought the H555 and struck this problem. Thinking it was the headphones I bought ClearChat Comfort USB and still had the same problem. The PC recognises the headphones, the test works and sometimes I can even use the headphones to hear audio. However, most of the time when I switch from one to the other (in either direction) the audio locks up to either speakers or headphones and sometimes disappears entirely. I could live with this if you could manually do the swap through playback devices, but even when it looks like it's working through headphones, the sound keeps coming through the speakers. Paid for 2 logitech headphones now so hoping there is some kind of fix.

p.s. running Vista on a Dell.

Re: PC won't switch from headphones to speakers automatically or manually

Hi Belinda_R,

Sometimes a program will have it's own audio device, or may also require a restart if the sound device is changed in Windows. An Internet Browser playing a Youtube video for example may have to be closed and re-opened after the Playback Device is changed.
