I recently received a pair of G930s that were refurbished, and after about five minutes of use the sound went out in the right ear. I didn't get around to RMAing them so I decided to open the right ear cup up myself and see if i could fix what was most likely a faulty wire to the speaker.
This will probably void your warranty
I opened the cup by pulling back the ear padding on top of the red plastic seam (pulling the padding away from where your ear would be) to expose the screws holding that red piece on. Take all of those out and pull off the padding and red plastic trim as a single piece. it will expose another set of screws, which should also be removed, which will expose the inner workings (This is probably the same for both ears, but the right has a battery and the left has the transmitter.) I could tell immediately that there was a bad kink in one of the exposed wires I could see, so i tried straightening it as gently as possible and turning on the headphones for a test. The sound was back in that ear, so i used a little tape to hold in a straight position, and threw a little over the battery to keep it in place too. Closed it back up and they've been working since. I am probably lucky that I didnt have to cut and solder in a new wire to replace the faulty existing one, but there are videos of that just with other headphone types out there which translate acceptably if this is your situation. I'm guessing many of these sound loss problems everyone is having are caused by the extremely thin wiring they use which can be easily kinked in the manufacturing process. Hope this helps anyone who had a similair problem to me, definitely worth a try if its your last option.
