Internet Headsets + Phones (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)

Ok i bought a Logitech® Premium USB Headset 350. The sound is great when i listen to music. Or divix movies and gaming. But when i watch a DVD, and only a DVD. it seems to come through in 5.1. Though if im right these do not support 5.1 surround sound. So the only sound it seems i get would be out of the left and right channel. Missing all the other sound. People talking are almost inaudible. Along with most of the other sounds in the movie's. Ive looked to make sure in my sound properties that i have it set to stereo headphones. Nothing changed. If i crank up the volume enough to hear anything the one kind of sound i do hear will almost make me bleed..lol. I use on board sound so i dont seem to have any fancy way to change setting. Though i could be missing something. Like i said these thing's sound awesome when i listen to music, and would love to be able to keep them. But i just bought a 22" monitor. I WANT TO WATCH MOVIES ON IT!!! Ive tried many movie players from VLC to Nero movie player. Nothing works. Any help you all could give would be great. I really like the sound of these and dont want to spend more money on another set of headphones. Thanks a bunch for anything you come up with.

P.S. I use a MSI P6N SLI MOBO.Also useing Windows XP Pro. hope thats enough info to help.

First of all I am glad to hear that you like the headset very much. In regards to your issue, I would like to suggest that you check the suggestion below.

1. Does the problem persist if you use a speaker instead of the headset?
2. What sound mode(THX, DOLBY DIGITAL, etc) you choose before you play the movie? 
3. Does problem persist only on this particular DVD?

Thanks for replying first off. To answer your question's

#1 I don't use speakers.

#2 Ive tried all diff setting's on DVDs. Yet they all sound the same. Well, lack of sound.

#3 Not one DVD out of the 50 i own, or the tons i rent from N$#F^*&#x. But everything else sounds great as I've said.

I have to watch movies on my TV. I'm sure you think "Oh poor me". But its a really lame TV..lol. That's why i got the 22" monitor. So in my room i can use headset and have it loud. Speakers would bother other's around the house. Cant watch Action movie turned down low ya-know?.. Or game at all with it turned down low. Witch they work really well at also. Again thanks.

Have you tried setting the audio to stereo in the DVD player software, not just in Windows? Also does the same thing happen when you use your soundcard in the computer? If you don't have speakers can you test it with regular 3.5mm jack headphones?

I've tried about every media player there is. From Windows Media Player to VLC. With the same results for every one them. Also checked settings in media players also.

Were you able to test if the issue is the same if you use your sound card instead of the USB headset?
