ClearChat PC Wireless - can't hear myself

Hi.

I have just bought the ClearChat PC Wireless headset.

I'm running Windows XP Home.

It works fine making Skype calls.

People can hear me fine.

I can hear them fine.

The problem is that I can't hear myself in the the headsets speakers.

Nothing.

Makes it kinda tough to work with Skype and/or Dragon Naturally Speaking 10.

I've double-checked my setting using your tutorial, and all the setting seem to be correct.

Can anyone help?

Hi Perc,

There is no sidetone/feedback circuit in the ClearChat Wireless headset.

Thanks Mike.

Live and learn.

Do you guys have a similar wireless headset that does have the ability to hear yourself when you talk?

Or a work-around for this unit?

Percy

Re: ClearChat PC Wireless - can't hear myself

Hi Perc,

At the moment this is the only one. It is a strange thing. When the CC Wireless was originally designed, the feedback feature was there. A survey was done to find out if people liked it and we found that they didn't. Since this is something that can be controlled in the Operating System I don't understand why this wasn't left to the user to control? Choices are always good. I am not sure if this is a firmware thing or not. I have made the recomendation that it be incorporated in all future designs.

Re: ClearChat PC Wireless - can't hear myself

Thanks again Mike!

I knew I came to the right place.

I'm going to give it a few more days to see if I can make it work.

If you get word that ability is in the pipeline, please send me a note.

If you can.

Percy.

Re: ClearChat PC Wireless - can't hear myself

I'm having the exact opposite problem.  I constantly hear my own echo and desperately want it to stop, yet there's no option to do so.  It's rather ridiculous considering the price I just paid for this product.
