Hello,
Well, I've got a ClearChat Wireless headset that I'm running on OS X 10.6.1. When I connect the dongle and turn on the headset, it connects just fine and the Logitech Wireless Headset entries appear. I select the headset and sound comes up. However, the sound quality is choppy. It seems like the music skips or goes out for a second. After a short bit of time (30 seconds - 5minutes) the headset drop its connection with the dongle, and both the dongle and headset have a slow flashing green light. The two units never reconnect. I have to turn the headset off and then back on again to make them reconnect. When the connection drops, I still see the Logitech Wireless Headset device listed in the sound settings, though there isn't any volume control for the output.
I've tried removing other devices off the USB bus, so only keyboard, mouse, and the headset are connected. No change in the behavior.
I was having the left-ear problem with my original headset and the problem above is being exhibited by the replace unit that Logitech sent.
I've run software update and have all the latest patches/updates installed in the operating system.
I'm using the new dongle that came with the new headset as well.
I've tried using a paperclip in the connect hole on the dongle to repair the units, after 15 seconds, they reconnected, but no change in behavior.
Edit: I tried these on another computer running Ubuntu 8.04 and the same issue is there. The sound is choppy and then the headset disconnects after around 30 seconds.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Pete

I just gave it a go now. Here's the results of running the firmware update:
peteh@MacPro ~ $ /Users/peteh/Downloads/ClearChat\ USB\ Upgrade ; exit;

Looking for devices matching vendor ID=1133 and product ID=2578
Upgrade already applied!

Looks like it was already applied. The same symptoms are occuring. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Pete

Hello,
I tried it with both the extension cradle and also without. The behavior is the same with both pieces. I'll give Tech Support a call.
Thanks for the help,
Pete
