How to use the Test Hardware application in Windows XP

Make sure your device is the hardware to be tested and click Next. You will see a screen with a progress bar that shows the operating system progress in recognizing the hardware you have selected.

Follow the instructions.

You will see green, yellow and perhaps red colors in the graph. The microphone volume should auto level. Click Next when ready.

At this point you will test the headphone speakers and microphone in the headset. You will hear your voice at the level you have set the microphone volume. If you do not hear yourself, go back through the set up steps one more time, checking all your selections were saved and were correct. If the test was successful, click the Next button.

Your headset is now set up and ready to work in your voice application
