Re: Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset Volume drops to zero

[ Edited ]

It must be a defective headset. I tried it on 2 different computers (a Dell laptop running Vista, and different desktop running Win7 RTM 32-bit) and plug&play detects and installs drivers, but the volume slider still drops to zero.

I also tried it on several USB ports on my system, which is running Win7 RTM 54-bit.

Now I just need to figure out if it is still under warranty. -- update, just checked. It was purchased from Buy.com on 8/4/2008. Since it is under a 2 year limited warranty, I might be able to get this problem resolved. Hooray!!

Now if only I could email someone at customer service and figure out how to take care of this....  :-)

BTW Mike, thanks for your responses.

Don't know if this is still an issue, but I had the same problem and the reason for the problem is the volume control on the clearchat headset. The ring with the volume control got out of place causing the volume to automatically decrease. Pushing the ring back in place solved my problem.

Re: Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset Volume drops to zero

hello,

same problem with windows XP professional SP2.

i managed to make it work right disconnecting the device, reinstalling its driver and audio drivers, then rebooting and

plugging back the headset....BUT suddenly, after a couple of minutes, volume started dropping down again.

i'm starting to wonderi if it's a volume knob problem and *not a sw one.

henk1953, i saw ur post and i'd like to know how u disassembled the headset.
