Hi. I have an internet headset with mic that was detected and work perfectly with Vista until I did a reinstall of Vista. Now I plug it in and hardware wizard doesn't intsall the headset and it doesn't work - the mic does but not the headset.
It's a set with a pink and a black prong.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi,
The computer will not see analog devices plugged into your sound card. The sound card is the interface the Operating System sees. There is no way for the Operating System to see past the sound card. The only drivers are for your sound card.

Hi,
I recently bought a Headset w/ a mic and I have been trying to use it with an internet communication program called Ventrilo but the mic isn't working. Now I'm not sure if the problem lies with Ventrilo or with my mic, accordingly to Ventrilo I do not have any sound driver available for use but again, I'm not sure if I need sound drivers that support my Logitech product or that Support Ventrilo itself.
