Internet Headsets + Phones (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)

I have had my headset for nearly a year now and suddenly one morning my headset would not work. In my Audio Manager the headphones and the mic are both recognised but they will not work no matter on what application i use them for. I plugged the headphones into my mp3 player and they worked perfectly. I double checked over all my audio settings to see if there is anything wrong there, but it is all fine. So i was wondering whether there may be something wrong with my motherboard connections or if there is something particularly wrong with my headset connections that my pc is having trouble with.
