Internet Headsets + Phones (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)

About a half hour ago my microphone has simply stopped working. I tried it on a different port, nothing. On my laptop? Nothing. I plugged in one other USB device, one that I regularly plug in anyways, and it now simply refuses to pick up sound. It's a very new headset, bought only a few weeks ago. Is there anything that  can be done or am I going to have to get this replaced?
