I was just wondering if anyone was able to find or make a driver so that USB headsets can function simultaniously with speaker systems so when you need to swap between them you dont need to totally restart programs/applications and streaming video (which can be quite a set back sometimes). If they could operate simultaniously then you could just check a box to mutethe one you wish to be silent, or even use them for 2 different applications at the same time (talk on VOIP while your wife continues to watch the movie that is playing already, ect ect...).
This is a common issue for a lot of people, so much so that a lot of people have decided that usb headsets are a bad idea and refuse to buy them. Sadly most of the really cool headsets are strictly usb so theres definately a market gap there. It seems like it should be a minor thing for talented programmers to work up a driver to remedy this, but as I was told that programmers don run hardware/software companies market research and commitee boards do, and if theres no market for a product then it doesn't get produced.
But seriously there is a need for this, and it would boost USB headset sales if they were more user friendly in this regard.
Unless there is already software that has been developed and I just missed the memo...

Well, I was hoping to not have to upgrade from windows vista ultimate just to use my headset. But I take it thats still a "No we dont make a driver for that yet/still."
I guess I will just live and learn and stick with non-usb headsets. Thanks for the info though I appreciate the effort.
