Just wondering any way to get the 980445 headset without the USB audio? I can only imagine that this must add a bit to the price, hence $60. I'm only interested in the headset it self.

I went ahead and purchased but really think the usb audio device should be optional. I'm sure it taxed my purchased quite a bit.

I seem to have a problem with this headset. Maybe it explains the reason that you guys package up your own sound device.
Whenever I mute the mic using the switch on the headset there is a bit of static picked up on the Mic input. This seems to be the case with only this set of headphones.
It's kind of annoying sense I use this headset for pretty much everything. I'm using them for dictation, some recordings, voice chats, Vonage calls, and Skype calls.
I'm not totally sure what this switch does on the headset that makes it do that. It seems like the included USB sound adapter cancels out this noise, and I can't help but wonder if whatever is being done when I flip that switch on the headset is enough of a problem that Logitech decided it would be easier to include a USB dongle to patch up the problem. And if this was actually the method of fixing the problem. =\

I have the PC headset and cannot get the mic to work on either the USB or headset/mic connections. I'm trying to use it with a contact manager program, Maximizer, and have always diled from the progam. mic does not seem to engage after i make call and hear it dial and answer. Any help out there?
