Hello,

I ran this headset for now around a half year.
In October I switched from OS X 10.4.xx to 10.5.(0 and 1)
I had no problems with it.

Yesterday I updated my Computer to Mac OS X Version 10.5.2.
I then had problems calling someone via Skype. I had a normal conversation, but my partner Had sometimes a bad noise over my words.

Today I used the headset to call someone via a softphone. (Client xmeeting)
This call was also interrupted by some noise or just with silence.

On a second phone call I got a kernel panic which occurs rarely to never.
The panic log lists errors with drivers related to usb / audio.

After that I changed my softphone client to X-lite and tried a test call.
This worked but I had also somme interrupts or noise.

My last try for today was with an Airline, the women on the other side couldn't understand my clear and hang up.

So is it possible that the headset will not work properly with 10.5.2 ?
Is it maybe driver problem?

Thanks in advance for any hints.

greets from germany ohm200x

I am having the same problem also.

I have the newest Macbook Pro model.

I have had sound glitches every 30 seconds or so on skype or other call services.

When watching video, it also skips occasionally and the video and audio go out of sync.

This just started after I upgraded to 10.5.2.

Also, It appears that this only affects the left side USB port on my MBP. I may need to test it more, but I did not experience this when plugging the USB headset into the right side USB port. It would seem like a hardware problem, but it works fine in Tiger or 10.5.1.

I also experienced a Kernel panic like you about the USB driver when using iChat. Sometimes when the computer skips it gets unresponsive for the program that is making the audio.

There are no problems using the normal audio ports or the internal microphone. It is obviously a problem with the USB drivers.

THANKS!!

I've been struggling with this glitch all day but I never thought to switch to the usb port on the right side of my MPB (2.6 GHz!!

My symptoms are very similar to the ones you describe except that I have been working with Ambrosia's Wiretap, 1.04. I'm running OS X 10.5.2 with the USB Headset (A-0356A).

I don't have the problem when I use the built-in microphone which also suggests that this is a usb issue.

Again, thanks for pointing out that the MPB may have 2 usb ports but they aren't perfectly symmetrical!
