Cordless Desktop Wave mini-receiver FW update wizard stopped midway

During a firmware update of my mini-receiver the wizard asked me to remove the mini-receiver from the computer. I did so and then the wizard said to re-insert the receiver into the computer, but now the computer does not notice the receiver and the wizard would not continue.
 
Prior to the update, everything was working fine. I was simply trying to update to the latest firmware and SW as my screensaver seemingly was not kicking in anymore (I now notice someone else solved this by updating Setpoint).
 
I have tried all standard USB port debugging techniques, but it looks like the mini-receiver is now DOA. Any ideas on how to possibly redo the firmware update/recover the mini-receiver? Or is it RMA time?

Yes, but it is stopped asking for me to plug my mini-receiver into my computer. It is plugged in, but obviously the SW can't talk to it.

Please try using the keyboard with a different PC to check if there is a problem with the receiver.

I was able to pair the LX8 mouse from the Cordless Wave Desktop with another receiver (Media Play mouse) without any issues, but the Cordless Wave Desktop receiver still is not recognized by the computer (same USB port).

Looks like there's a problem with the receiver. Please contact Customer Support for further assistance.
