Logitech can you please make my useless Cordless Number Pad work on my MAC...

MacBookPro, IntelCoreDuo, 10.4.11

OK, Ok, ok... I know I tripple posted...

But again, the history of the threads shows neglect to Mac users.

Anyone of Logitech please give a sign of life...???

Just came home with the 'plug & play' Logitech Cordless Number Pad (with full support for the macintosh, as the man behind the desk assured me...)

Plugged the receiver in & tried to play... (MacBookPro Intel)

Oops... The 'Keyboard Setup Assistant' asks me to PRESS the key immediately to the right of the SHIFT key...

As I reviewed the history of this thread, I had thought that in the mean time someone of Logitech would have explained how to set up this device.

Unfortunately not...

Can anyone shed some light on this please...???

Apparently there's no one caring for customers of a 'Macintosh Compatible' Logitech Cordless Number Pad...

Cheers, learner . . .

Hi,

So, I didn't really take the time to read your other posts... but it's a clear cut case of the sales-rep not telling you the fact and you not double-checking the packaging.

It doesn't say Mac compatible anywhere... Plug and Play doesn't have anything to do with Mac compatibility.

You can even check the product page here (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/notebook_products/keypads/devices/3075&cl=roeu,en), where the System Requirements reads: Windows® 2000, Windows® XP, Windows® Vista™

Sorry, but you purchased the wrong product for your needs.

Just to add: Like "woody" (who is from Logitech) said in your other thread (I read them now), the product is not Mac compatible, hence its not possible to give you any instructions to get it working.

Re: Logitech can you please make my useless Cordless Number Pad work on my MAC...

I just picked up a numeric keypad (PN:920-000217) because the salesman said it should work on the mac as a standard 'human interface device'. and I really need a keypad with a TAB key

Sure enough the mac asked to press the key next to the shift key (z) - none of which exists on a numeric keypad.

A couple questions come to mind:

1) Is there a full keyboard that works with the USB dongle that came with the keypad?

2) If there is and we use it to press the 'z' key will it actually recognise the keyboard?

3) If id does recognize the keyboard should the keypad then work by default?

4) Does anyone have the equipment to test this theory?

Thanks

No, it's not worth it.. The NumPad is simply not Mac compatible, just as the website and the packaging says....

Do you know of a mac numeric keypad with a TAB key
or is it possible to program the F16 key (near the keypad) on the mac keyboard to act as a TAB key

Thanks again

Off the top of my head, no. Unfortunately, you only option would be the almighty Google.

As for changing key bindings, yes, this is possible, but it is not easy and so far, I was not see a tool that could do this for you. You can find instructions here: http://www.lsmason.com/articles/macosxkeybindings.html
