Cordless Desktop® MX™ 5500 Revolution

Hello, I have some questions regarding Cordless Desktop® MX™ 5500 Revolution.

1st question: Is it any good gaming set/device?
2nd question: If it's not can you give any recommendations?
3d question: Do I need bluetooth in my computer or does the package bring all I need for bluetooth connection?
4th question: Is the mouse better than MX518?

Thanks.

Re: Cordless Desktop® MX™ 5500 Revolution

1st: Definitely, yes. I've played Crysis and Warhead many times through with delta with this set. No prob's what so ever. If there's any lag, I'm not aware of it. You might wonder if the mouse's free scrolling wheel brings issues in gameplay: When you start a game it automatically changes to traditional stepping wheel. Be aware though, that this desktop set is not without it's issues, just browse the forum. If you're lucky, you might not encounter any. Only real con, besides the possible issues, is that the mouse middle button (scrol wheel) seems to need quite a bit of force to function. This can present minor challenge or getting-use-to at first when playing a game like Crysis, where it's absolutely necessary feature to be able to hold down the scrol wheel button for short periods of time when selecting the nano-suit modes.

2nd: I think this is one of the best, if not the best, cordless set.

3rd: No. The package includes BT dongle. Also you can use that one for other BT devices besides the keyboard and mouse.

4th: Can't really say. I haven't been using that one.

Thanks, I've read here at the forum that some people have problems such as keys get stuck and similar, is that something you've noticed?

No. I have practically not had any problems with the wireless connection in it self. I've been using the set now for well 6 months and the BT connection has dropped 3 times. Each time it lasted about 2 seconds, I heard a consecutive USB-disconnected/connected sounds, and it continued to work automatically. I consider that quite a minorish glitch.

Re: Cordless Desktop® MX™ 5500 Revolution

I haven't had the stuck key problem. I consider that to be an BT connection related problem.

The bugs you encounter using this set, if you're to encounter any, will most probably be software related. I have had a few pestering one those. But I got them sorted out, partly or mostly thanks to this forum.
