First I would like to thank you for choosing the diNovo Edge as your desktop unit. From your post, I...
All of the keyboard notification is controlled by SetPoint. You can set the notification and sound to be shown/ring when it activated or deactivated. Launch SetPoint and click My Tools tab. In this tab you will find another tab call notification where the cap lock check box is located.
Please do let me know if the issue still persists so that I could offer further assistance if needed.

Thank you for the reply. Even if the keyboard has a built-in beep sound, it should be disabled when the option is unchecked in SetPoint. To verify on this, please have SetPoint uninstalled, restart the computer and check whether the issue still occurs.
If the issue does not persist after uninstalling SetPoint, do a clean installation of SetPoint and this might help to resolve the issue.
Please do let me know if the issue still persists so that I could offer further assistance if needed.

Thank you for the reply. It is indeed confusing as to why the beep sound still appears even when the options is disabled. I have rechecked again and found that the option of unchecking the 'signal status.......' is just to disable the cap lock notification. There is another option under the keyboard tools to totally disable the beep sound. Go to the My Keyboard tab, then select the keyboard preference tab on your left and there is a title called Keyboard Preferences. Under this title, there is an option called 'Beep when i press Caps Lock'. Uncheck this and it will stop the chime sound.
Please do let me know if you have any further enquiries.

Is there any external way to disable the sound, i.e. without using the SetPoint utility? I'm using MacBook Pro and there is no SetPoint utility for Mac.

Some have even complained about there not being a numpad, but I planned ahead and shopped for both.
I looked around my OS and could not see any obvious config files that would turn it off.
Wishfull thinking i guess
