Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

it actually worked ONCE yesterday. i heard a beep and saw the message flashing on the LCD.
but it has never worked again, and as far as i can recall i was not doing anything different.
Very strange.

In answer to your questions.

outlook 2003 sp2, i have only one profile, connected to an Exchange Server Mail Store, so i dont use POP email.
On a Corporate Domain, my Windows XP machine is a member of the domain, and my user account has Local Administrator privileges on the machine.
It has never worked, I only just bought the keyboard a couple of weeks back, and it didnt work with the version that came installed, so i upgraded  but it still wont work.
I am using the Logitech receiver with all the Logitech Bluetooth controller software and Setpoint 4.40.88
My machine has Trend Micro OfficeScan installed, which is a corporate Anti Virus software. No firewall on the machine itself, apart from teh Windows XP sp2 firewall which is disabled.

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

Single user in Outlook 2003, connected to exchange server.

Never worked with older version, though as soon as I installed I upgraded.

Using Logitech receiver, SetPoint version is confirmed to be 4.40.88, though I installed 4.24[?] first for the bluetooth stack thing

Not sure on antivirus, firewall is a hardware something or other [Cisco?] -- office environment.

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

UPDATE!!!!

I have just discovered that it works fine IF i click Send/Receive.
but because i am on a corporate domain using exchange server, i dont have to do that, as mail is automatically sent to my inbox which is open in outlook directly from the Exchange server.

so it means when the mail is automatcally delivered, i get no notification, but if i then click Send/Receive it works.

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

So, Logitech "tech support" (aka shut up and leave us alone) gotten anywhere? Or do I still have a half functioning product that's going to remain half functioning?

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

[ Edited ]
Our support team tested SetPoint 4.60 and there was no Email notification error found.

As for MX5000 unit, the SetPoint 4.60 for Windows Vista is available but not for Windows XP.
(ETA should be this week.)

Please let us know when if it is working properly in your environment.

Thanks

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

So in actual fact what you are telling us is that with the currently available software versions (4.40) for WinXP there IS a problem and the notification will not work automatically?

I wait in anticipation of the new version to see if it fixes the problem, though i wont hold my breath!

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

@ "woody":

Could you please let me know what hardware your "support" (and I use that term oh so very loosely) team is using? Maybe I could spend $$$$$ on a new PC setup and then my MX5000 would actually work properly!!

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

To reiterate:

WinXP Pro SP2
OL2003
Single user profile
Setpoint 4.60

No Email/IM alerts. And naturally all the other MX5000 problems, but I'm not holding my breath.
