I am using :

Thunderbird
XP 32bit SP2
Set Point 4.6.122

The email notifiction icon on the lcd is staying on constantly and the Inbox display says I have 99 new emails. However I don't appear to have any new emails. When I do get a new email that count does not change. The only settings I can find in setpoint set which application launches with the email/F7 button. I can not find any settings for the lcd display email notification other than play sound Yes/No. I'm actually a little disappointed in the lack of configuration options.

I see you are anticipating a new Set Point release. Hopefully that will resolve this as well.

I'm getting the same "99 New Emails" fixed message on LCD (it never worked), hope they fix this soon

Using:
Thunderbird
Windows Vista 64 SP1
Setpoint 4.60.122

Thunderbird is not one of supported email clients.  So, it should not display the messages.

Is it MX5000 or MX5500 unit?

Can you get the list of email programs from:
-Control Panel  > Internet options > Programs tab > E-mail drop down box

I will forward this to our engineering.

Thanks

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

Coming up on 7 months...

the government moves faster.

Seriously, this should be a block of code that some kid in CompSci 2 could write, if given proper access and understanding with respect to what's going on. I'm not even asking you to fix the random disconnects (because you don't care), but this? This is simple. This is feature related, not hardware/driver related.

Whatever, not going to be buying another Logitech product until a) this gets fixed and b) stupid issues like these stop happening.

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

I wish I had joined/reviewed this forum before purchasing the MX 5500 today.  (I can always take it back). I just found out the the LCD is about worthless.  Can't see a **bleep** thing.

Brand new out of the box the software is version 4.24 and Outlook 2003 and Aim 6 do not notify me of new emails or IM's.  So, based on all this lovely lack of easy dev fixes from logitech should I even upgrade the software or should I just package this back up and get something else.  Sounds like most everyone in this thread is fed up.

Woody, I understand that you are just passing on the info from Dev and Quality but this is crazy.  For $170 this **bleep** keyboard should be voice activated.

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

Still no update from Logitech about this problem... They don't want to move from 4.60.122

My email display don't work and I've been officialy informed by Logitech that it is not compatible with my thunderbird... I don't remember to saw a min requirement when I bought it.

Time for a negative review on Amazon...

Re: MX5000 LCD Email/IM Alerts

I've just spent £125 on the MX5500 desktop and it doesn't work properly??

£125

42 new emails? No I haven't!

To read that this problem has been evident for months, shows a complete mis-understanding by Logitech on how to earn loyalty and repeat business.

People ask my opinion about computers because that's how I earn my money.

Or their customer service, of course.
