MX5000 num lock

How do I toggle num lock on an MX5000? I read somewhere that the 'Clear Calc' key does it, but that doesn't work for me.

Re: MX5000 num lock

Hi cybusterzero! :smileyhappy:

Welcome to the Logitech Online User Discussion Forum

The MX 5000 doesn't have the scroll lock key feature. The only way to enable it is through the On Screen Keyboard (osk). To launch 'osk', I would recommend the following steps below :-

1. Click Start
2. Go to 'run'
3. In the run command, type 'osk'.
4. After that you will see an on screen keyboard on the monitor.

Please let me know if you still have the same issue with the scroll lock. I'll be more than happy to help you out.

Re: MX5000 num lock

I have a KVM that uses the num lock key to switch from one computer to another. Obviously the windows solition will not work in this case, is there any key combination that will force the num lock output?

Re: MX5000 num lock

Hey support guy, try reading the posts and reply again. The issue is not about the ScrollLock, which many keyboards no longer carry, it's about a button that all standard keyboards have: the NumLock. Why isn't in on my keyboard? Why doesn't the ClearCalc button perform the NumLock function? This is a standard keyboard button and your packaging I read when I bought this package implied that this was at the very least a standard keyboard. Can you guys update your keyboard drivers to make this button work properly? This is ridiculous. Not only that, this is the response from another support person, telling the customer to change their gaming habits and doesn't even address the problem: "Actually, as a gamer myself, I used to use the number pad myself for movement. However, I soon found that use the a, w, s, and d keys worked out much better for me, allowing me to quickly type messages to my group mates, and still get right back to the movement keys without confusion. It frees up my right hand to use my mouse, for all those important functions required, and I think that most people are more accustomed to the awsd key functions. This is likely to be one reason that the num lock feature was not provided on this keyboard, but I can't say for certain. It did take me a little while to get used to using the keys, instead of the num pad, but after the adjustment period, I can't imagine going back." Let's get with it here, this is a high end keyboard and I am your customer, and whether I stay one depends on how you handle this issue.

Re: MX5000 num lock

Not only is the num lock gone...so is the scroll lock!!! All documentation states I CAN NOT assign a function key for this.

Re: MX5000 num lock

Do you mean the mouse's back button? That shouldn't have anything to do with numlock. What do you have it set to in SetPoint?

Re: MX5000 num lock

For me, I use the button with a calculator on it (between the sleep and Mode F button) to toggle numlock on and off.  It seems to work when running Windows XP Professional, and I imagine any other version of Windows.  You may want to try that.  For the record, the osk.exe (On Screen Keyboard) option does NOT work for me.

Re: MX5000 num lock

i've just changed the batteries in my MX5000 keyboard and now the numeric keyboard is no longer working.  I can't find a numlock key and previous posts are contradictory.  How do I get my numeric keyboard back?
