Novo Mini Keyboard loses connection after some undeditermined time when computer is in standby

I have a di Novo Mini.  When connected it works flawlessly.  I can put my computer to sleep with it and wake up my computer.  But after an undetermined amount of time the Mini loses it's connection.  Let's just say, I put the computer to standby and I wait until the next day.  The comptuer is still sleeping as indicated by the blinking power button.  I have hibernation mode off, so the lowest state the computer will go to is "standby".  I can not reconnect my Mini by using the red button on the keyboard and USB Receiver.  The only thing that works, is if I remove the battery and put it back in.  Instantaneously, the computer wakes up once the Mini gets the battery put back in, as if all of a sudden the keyboard is now transmitting to the computer.  Why is this, does the keyboard go to sleep to save energy after a certain point?  Does any else have this issue?  I wrote Logitech last week and have yet to receive a response on this issue.  Help wanted!

Re: Novo Mini Keyboard loses connection after some undeditermined time when computer is in standby

Yep, my Mini just did that too. I suspect it isn't a sleep issue so much as
a microcode crashing issue. For me also, power cycling by taking the battery
out and putting it back in was the only way to get it to come back. My
computer is used as a server, so it wasn't in standby at all, the keyboard
just stopped talking at some point (about a week after I got it).

My fancy HD monitor has the same problem. Every few weeks it will "crash"
and the remote won't work anymore. I have to completely disconnect AC
power to "reboot" it.

Makes me wonder how much medical equipment these same manufacturers
produce :-).

Re: Novo Mini Keyboard loses connection after some undeditermined time when computer is in standby

I also have the Novo Mini but I haven't had it long enough (or rather used it long enough) to notice this behavior yet.  So I will be watching.

However, I do have the new MX5500 set connected to my desktop and I had exactly the same symptom as well.  Namely, if I resume the computer shortly (within minutes) after the computer goes into S3, I can wake the system up with a keypress on MX5500 keyboard or the MX Rev BT mouse.  If I left the computer overnight, the only way that I can wake the system up is via pressing the power button on the case (which is very annoying.....)

I know it is not a system problem because prior to the MX5500 set, I had the MX3200 and a MX Revolution mouse and those wakes up the system correctly.......

And guess what!  I also sent a message to logitech with no response back......

OK.  Now I can confirm that my DiNovo Mini does that, too.  But not all the time.  I had 1 disconnection issue yesterday but I left the machine on and walked away overnight and the DiNovo is still connected.....  Seems to be issues with the DiNovo Mini maintaining the connection after a period of inactivity.  My DiNovo Mini is connected to a Server 2003 machine and the machine is never turned off or suspended.  And yet the DiNovo Mini may be disconnected and will not reconnect unless I take out the battery.....

I hope that all of you have submitted technical support request for this problem.  I have been going back and forth with Logitech.  By the way, what operating systems are you guys working on?  The computer that has the Mini is WIN XP Media Center Editon, with all updates.  Just curious if this is a XP only problem.

Re: Novo Mini Keyboard loses connection after some undeditermined time when computer is in standby

I am using the Novo Mini with a Small Business Server 2003 (SP2).  Installed SP4.40.88 but it doesn't detect the mini.

So pretty much without Logitech drivers.

texasaggie, did you already come across a solution for this? I experience exactly the same issues. I'm using the diNovo Mini in combination with Windows Media Center Edition 2005. The problem seems to occur with or without the latest SetpPoint drivers installed.

I'll report the problem to Logitech as well.
