Re: SetPoint 4.60 is available for download...

well worked for one day

and back to the disconnections of the keyboard - takes over a minute to resync

and is very annoying especially when doing online games

i've heard the ms setup doesn't do this, so may end up binning this rubbish

it's a shame as their last desktop setup from logitech was brilliant that used normal wireless

Re: SetPoint 4.60 is available for download...

Had a lot of problems with this update, it would not recognize the desktop devices after the Receiver Firmware update. I managed to resolve the installation with my Dinovo Laser bluetooth desktop combo by removing every bit of Logitech software and the Widcomm installation.  Then I ran the original Logitech Setpoint 4.24 cd installation and allowed it to run the automatic install update.  Then I ran the Update Search after everything was installed and operating.  Then I ran the 4.60 update and it worked fine.

Re: SetPoint 4.60 is available for download...

Hi,

I have a MX5000 BT keyboard and mouse since a year working on Vista and they always worked fine except for disconnections of the keyboard one a while.
Yesterday the automatic update started to download Setpoint 4.60 without giving me a chance to read a release notes however I accepted the upgrade.
After it finishes the installation it asked me to restart the computer, however I was editing a file so I decided to postpone the restart since the keyboard and mouse were working fine.
A few seconds later Logitech installation application pops up a dialog indicating it was upgrading the Bluetooth dongle firmware without asking me to do so.
It just warned me to not turn off the computer or disconnect the dongle.
When it reached 100% both the mouse and keyboard lost connection and the Logitech installation application freeze.
Then Windows Vista said there was a new device and it would install the new drivers. After a minute, windows Vista pop up a message saying that the installation failed because there is an error in the INF file as follows:

"Windows found a driver for the device but there was an error when trying to install it.
Bluetooth wireless hub
Error during device installation:
It is missing an entry in the installation file fro this device. This may be occurred because the INF file was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact hardware vendor."

I waited for 10 minutes but Logitech installation software kept freeze then I had to restart the computer.
Now the keyboard does not connect anymore even at boot and there is a device without a driver in Windows Vista Device Manager (BT dongle).
Is there any way I can recover this situation and rollback to previous S/W since my keyboard does not work anymore?

Thanks in advance,

Eduardo

Re: SetPoint 4.60 is available for download...

I've followed instructions from Logitech Support to remove Setpoint and install it again.
After I remove Setpoint software, the keyboard and mouse started to work again in Embedded mode so they are not bricked anymore.
However if I try to install Setpoint 4.60 the Windows Vista fails to install the driver fro the BT Hub adapterand gives me the INF error message. Connection manager got stuck at 23%.
So until Logitech gives me a solution I will have to use them wihtout Setpoint and without HCI mode.

Re: SetPoint 4.60 is available for download...

Install went ok, my DiNovo Edge worked perfectly. but my MX Air lost Back & Sel (Forward) functionality in ALL my media players except for WMP11
I am running Vista x64 Ult. and I tested for this bug on vista 32b and had the same issue.
Now i have an HTPC, and I dont use WMP or Media Center due to its lack of built in 5.1 audio & poor vidio output.
So i had to downgrade back to 4.4. good thing i never had an issue with that version.

[ Edited ]
so, I see there is still the same situation with Logitech. Great products, useless software :robotmad:

I am happy owner of dinovo media desktop for more than 3 years, I think started up with XP x86 and setpoint 2.x.
Now I have Vista x64 and dinovo without setpoint, and it's runnig well :manvery-happy:

The most problem is, I have a G5 mouse too and without setpoint I can't use all functionality of this gadget :smileysad:

never the less, logitech produces the best products in this class, only you should deside - try use extended features with setpoint or better use the basic ones, but without problems! cheers

Re: SetPoint 4.60 is available for download...

I downloaded this update today and it broke my 5000 keyboard and mouse combo. It tries to make a connection but it gets stuck connecting and keeps doing that over and over. Where can I find a download for the previous version since that one worked fine?
