Setpoint/Bluetooth Tray do not detect USB adapter

After installing latest drivers, then uninstalling and reinstalling latest drivers, neither Setpoint nor the Bluetooth Tray (bluetooth icon in notification are) detect the USB adapter when it is plugged into ANY of the 8 ports.

Problem is not connecting the keyboard/mouse (yet), but getting the software to detect the connected hardware. Fix?

Re: Setpoint/Bluetooth Tray do not detect USB adapter

Firstly what OS are you running and secondly has windows installed the device ? . If windows isnt detecting the adaptor and it doesnt show up in device manager either working or as a marked ! item the the dongle could be faulty . Windows will very likely detect it in basic mode first . To test this press the connect stub on the mouse then press the connect stub on the dongle . If the mouse works then its very likely just stuck in basic mode . You can get it on bluetooth mode by holding the connect button in when you plug it in .

Re: Setpoint/Bluetooth Tray do not detect USB adapter

I'm running XP.
Windows detects the device, and it shows up in the device manager, but when it attempts to install it, a balloon pops up stating that it was installed, but there may have been errors in the installation, which shouldn't make a difference of Logitech knew what they were doing.
The adapter USED TO show up in the device manager with an !, untill i reinstalled SetPoint.
There is no problem with the dongle, as it worked up to two days ago, when Setpoint decided to update.
When i push the connect button on the dongle, nothing happens.
The mouse does not work.
The keyboard does not work.
Holding the connect button while connecting it did not help either.

Thanks for the reply

Sounds to me like you need to do a clean install of setpoint .

Try that .

Re: Setpoint/Bluetooth Tray do not detect USB adapter

Tried that just for fun and it didn't work. Not too surprised though, never had a problem installing anything (including previous versions of SetPoint) before.

I have not tried it on another system yet, but from what I have read in other threads it will be a waste of time anyway.
