Hi, I've already sent and email to Logitech, but don't know when the reply will come...

Just bought a Dinovo media/laser combo secondhand, and tried to install Setpoint v. 4.24. Install was 'successful' according to the SW install program. However, the IR receiver is not being recognized. I've tried unplugging/replugging into several USB ports (including the one I just successfully set up my Harmony 520 with), with and without the extension cradle.

This system is 32bit XP SP2. In the system folder, only Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator is present, nothing else. Clicking on 'My Bluetooth Places' results in 'no Bluetooth devices detected'. The Setpoint software doesn't even show a Bluetooth tab to click on the far left. Clicking on another tab gives me 'please plug in a Bluetooth device and restart this program' or similar.

Does this mean the USB receiver itself is faulty? Or am I doing something wrong?

To be honest, I don't care about setpoint, and the media pad isn't too important either, as long as I can use the keyboard and mouse normally. 'Embedded' mode of any Bluetooth network would work fine for me. Could someone post the simplest bog-standard, least-likely-to-fail method to install an embedded Bluetooth network that will find the receiver? Doesn't have to be Setpoint.

Also, if there is a way to 'ping' the receiver to check if it's functional, that would be extremely helpful. Already the install is very frustrating for just a keyboard and mouse. I decided to buy the Dinovo media/laser combo after the incredibly smooth setup and functioning of the Harmony 520 remote (have also used and liked Logitech joysticks/trackball mice, etc.), but this keyboard/mouse install is nothing but painful (and still no function).

SetPoint version 4.6BT for this product has updated USB drivers and the Widcomm BT stack included.

The diNovo Media Desktop Laser installs in HCI mode as default.  If you wish to use this device in embedded mode, SetPoint is needed to re-flash the receiver as an embedded device.  There is no other way to use this device in embedded mode.

The choice to use it in embedded mode or HCI mode is yours to make, but the option to go embedded is only available through SetPoint.

Therefore I would suggest that you first uninstall the SetPoint 4.24 and and then install the SetPoint 4.6BT from our downloads site.  You may use this link to get to the correct download site if you wish:

It sounds to me that the problem is not anything like disfunctional USB ports on your system since other devices enumerate in them.  Therefore the most likely solution is to update the USB drivers for this product via the new SetPoint 4.6BT.

However, if using this updated SetPoint 4.6BT with the new USB drivers does not solve the USB enumeration problem, then it is likely your USB receiver is defective and needs to be replaced.  But the only way to know for sure if the receiver is defective is to fist try the SetPoint 4.6BT. 

In the case of the receiver being defective, please order a new receiver from the Logitech Parts Store.  You may use this link to order the correct receiver.

Hello, and thanks for the link to the Logitech store for a replacement.

I'd be surpised if 4.6 recognizes the receiver, when 4.24 didn't. The receiver should be recognized without any Setpoint at all.  I don't care what mode it works in, as long as it works.

Haven't tried the Setpoint 4.6BT, but I did plug in my roommate's MX900 mouse receiver this weekend. It was recognized in every USB port. the Dinovo Media receiver wasn't recognized in any ports.

Based on this, I'm going to replace the current receiver. This seems a more likely fix than uninstalling/installing new BT software packages. If the new receiver is recognized, I'll proceed with your suggestion to install 4.6.

... yes, I bought a new receiver (not logitech brand) and everything installed immediately. The old one must have been faulty. That was 3 weeks ago. Didn't bother to install Setpoint, as the mouse/keyboard work just fine without it.

Mark the solution where?? Don't remember getting a solution... I just troubleshot it.
