Adding Zune Software to list of Media Players in SetPoint

I've seen a few posts of people trying to get Zune to open by press the "Media Player" key on the keyboard (I'm using MX3200). I just got this keyboard today and figured out how to get the Zune player to open using SetPoint and the keyboard. It's a very easy "hack." Of course, make sure you have the Zune Software installed prior to this :smileyhappy:

1. Open My Computer. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint

2. Open the file "Players" with a text-editing program (NotePad, Word Pad, etc.)

3. There's a list titled "[Players]" Anywhere within the list open a new line and paste this:

Zune=wac,Zune.exe,Zune,Zune Software,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,0.1,Zune Software

This adds a Zune reference to the executable and uses predefined media controls that are used with Windows Media Player as well.

4.  Navigate further down to the list titled "[Players.Display]" and anywhere in the list open a new line and paste:

Zune=Zune

This adds a reference to the previously created media player item you just added, and tells SetPoint what name to display for that media player.

5. Click File->Save

6. Open SetPoint and go to My Keyboard->Media Player (from list #2, "Select Hot Key") -> then select "Zune" from the drop-down.

There may be an easier way to do this, but this is how I figured it out. I saw a post about "uberOptions" beign able to list more options for certain functions, but the link was broken. I hope this helps anyone needing to accomplish this. :smileyhappy:

Re: Adding Zune Software to list of Media Players in SetPoint

Yessir. This requires a little more than the Zune player does, but it's still very simple. Follow these steps:

1. Open My Computer. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint

2. Open the file "Players.ini" with a text-editing program (NotePad, Word Pad, etc.)

3. There's a list titled "[Players]" Anywhere within the list open a new line and paste this:

MediaMonkey=cmd,MediaMonkey.exe,TFMainWindow, MediaMonkey,xxx,xxx,40045,40046,40047,40044,40048,0,1,MediaMonkey

This adds a Zune reference to the executable and uses predefined media controls that are used with Windows Media Player as well.

4.  Navigate further down to the list titled "[Players.Run]" and anywhere in the list open a new line and paste:

MediaMonkey=reg,HKLM,SOFTWARE\Classes\MediaMonkey.File\DefaultIcon,,2

5. Go to the next list, titled "[Players.Display]" and add this line to the list:

MediaMonkey=Media Monkey

6. Go to the bottom list, titled "[Players.IsRemote]" and add this line:

MediaMonkey=True

7. Click File->Save

8. Open SetPoint and go to My Keyboard->Media Player (from list #2, "Select Hot Key") -> then select "Media Monkey" from the drop-down.

If these instructions are hard to follow, I also found this site to check my walkthrough: Using Media Monkey with SetPoint

Hope this helps!

Re: Adding Zune Software to list of Media Players in SetPoint

This doesn't work for my mx 5500, there is just Zune software launching when pressing "Media Center" key, but nothing on the LCD screen, so bad :smileysad:

I hope Logitech will integrate Zune Software in the future SetPoint Drivers!
