Re: BEWARE: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

I'm very disappointed in you Logitech. You're telling me that "This is actually a design limitation of the keyboard matrix design (for none gaming keyboards), and it is not something that has been purposely disabled in the firmware."

You can click ANY friggin letter + Shift + Space, except for W and "UP". "Coincidentally" the same buttons that are default in any game. Design limitation my a**.

What have you gained from this Logitech, angry customers?

Next time Razer keyboard it is.

Re: BEWARE: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

Just noticed the same thing :smileysad:

Had the DiNovo Edge before with no issues and wanted a new one with cables and this is just garbage. Costs a fortune and can't even do a trivial thing as SHIFT+W+SPACE. Hopefully I can get it returned since I ony had it for a day.

Really unhappy with this.

Re: BEWARE: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

Interesting comments on the Logitech Illuminated keyboard.  I have to say, however, that if used in an office environment, it is the best keyboard I have ever used.  I am in a unique environment where my typing has to be SILENT.  This is by far the most quiet keyboard I have ever used.  Not only is it quiet but I find the key action to be perfect and extremely pleasant.  I become so in love with this keyboard that I went out and bought another 2 more just like it...and they are not cheap......one for home and one for backup in case they stop making it.  Love typing on it in the middle of the night in the dark.....a fun plus....but the best part is that my furiously fast typing at my job does not disturb anyone.  This keyboard is quiet as can be and a dream to use.

Re: BEWARE: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

So just to clarify before I bite on one; no one is really reporting issues with the K800 right? I really love all the Logitech products I've purchased over the years...but I can't bring myself to purchase one of the gaming keyboards I'm completely not into the aethsethics of them. I've done some research and seem to see less complaining(any?) about this issue on the wireless version.

Re: BEWARE: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

There have been various messages here about the K800. To get a better idea of what people say about this keyboard, you could search the forum.

My experience is that it is a good keyboard with a few issues. My first one had to go back – under warranty – because the Enter key broke. Looks like a design issue to me. But not all keyboards have the same inverted "L-shaped" Enter key.

The reason why I bought this keyboard is because I had become fed up with the letters wearing off of the keys after a few months. With a half of dozen of those lying in the corner, I decided that a backlit keyboard might not get the same disease. That turns out to be the case. The first keyboard was a year old before it broke, with no sign of letter rot.

Re: BEWARE: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

So if I understand correctly there is no illuminated "gaming" keyboard availiable and logitech is still unwilling to change a small matrix programming flaw?

Incredible.

[ Edited ]

HI AudioDemon,

The this thread applies to the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard (PN PN 920-000914) only. It does not apply to Logitech's illuminated Gaming Keyboards

Re: BEWARE: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

So, AudioDemon is wrong in thinking "there is no illuminated "gaming" keyboard available"?

It would have made life easier for the folks here had someone pointed that out earlier.

Re: BEWARE: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

Hi MK,

You are correct, none of Logitech's G series gaming keyboards are affected by this issue, and most of them have illuminated keys. My post (the thread solution) here has touched on this, but I can see that it may be difficult to extract specific information out of a 12 page thread.

Please do not hesitate to ping me if you have additional questions regarding this topic.

Thanks,
